We are currently looking for a presenter for this meetup. We encourage everyone to come out to network, learn, teach, participate.

If there's a reason you can't make any of our meetups, but you are interested, please drop me an email ([masked]) to let me know why. It could be location, day, time, etc... we are open to all feedback.

Oscar Merida, the Editor-in-Chief of php[architect] magazine, will be in San Diego and presenting on XDebug and Profiling.

If you are not familiar with XDebug, or maybe you are but never took the time to configure it, this talk will show you the benefits of understanding XDebug and what a powerful tool it is. XDebug will take your development skillset to the next level.

This is a great opportunity to see a talk by one of the top people in the PHP Community.

If you have not attended a meetup since moving to our new location, there is a paid parking garage. There is also a lot of free parking on the street at 6 PM on Executive Dr.

PHP uses an array to contain and transport data within our application. An array is a hybrid, associative, linear data structure.
How do they work, exactly? What does an array look like under the hood? Can we do better, and does it actually matter?

We're going to talk about arrays, the ds extension, how they compare, and what you might see in the next release.

Ports and adapters and inputs and outputs oh my! In this talk we will be breaking down The Hexagon and showing how it promotes better software architecture. A bit of Domain Driven Design (DDD) will be discussed and how that fits in at the core of The Hexagon. Also we will touch on some Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) basics to see how that can improve software design. Finally we will walk through a practical example of a simple blogging app built with The Hexagon in mind so you can see it in action. If you've ever wondered how to holistically build better software The Hexagon is here to help.
