On Wednesday, Darryl Rettig walked us through Error Tracking with Sentry (https://sentry.io/). He showed us how to use Sentry to track both PHP and Javascript errors in your application in order to gather information about what problems specific users are experiencing and insight on how to address them. Wednesday evening we had a presentation on web scraping with PHP by Marcus Moore. Marcus spent the evening showing different web scraping techniques, along with ways to store and parse the scraped data. It was an awesome turnout. On Wednesday, SDPHP hosted the first meetup of the year with a presentation by Michael Knudsen and his discussion on the Cucumber BDD testing framework, and its variant for PHP, Behat, as well as the Gherkin feature writing format and Cucumber's implementations with Ruby and Selenium WebDriver with Java. It's with a heavy heart to announce that we've decided to disband the San Diego Laravel User Group (@sandiegolaravel) in 2018. I enjoyed our Laravel Meetups over the years, and the group was a personal project of mine to strengthen the Laravel community in San Diego. We started the group back in April of 2015 and saw our membership grow to 284 Members. On Wednesday, Darryl Rettig presented at the SDLUG monthly meet up on the topic “Row and Attribute Level Security in Eloquent - Protecting Data in an API”.
